FAQ

  • Take the A train to Far Rockaway–not to Lefferts Blvd. It’s about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on where you hop on. Check Google Maps or the MTA app for exact timing and details!

  • There’s a lovely ferry from Pier 11 at Wall Street – it takes about 50 minutes to the dock at Beach 108th St. Free shuttle vans meet all boats so you can catch one to or near your location that way, too.

  • Driving is the most practical for production – of course, consult with Google Maps for the best route and timing from your starting location. Please note, our two bridges are now cashless, so bring or borrow an EZ-Pass.

  • Flying into JFK and coming straight to set? Either hop on the A train, call a Lyft, or grab a yellow cab.

  • NYC buses run up and down Rockaway Beach Blvd.

  • We also have a few good local cab services

  • Bring your bike (or skateboard!), the boardwalk is a great ride.

The Rockaways are located in Queens, so all permitting is done through the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in Manhattan &/or NYC Department of Parks & Recreation.

  • Absolutely, 100% yes – you must have insurance for your production, no matter the size. We will require a valid certificate of insurance (COI) sent to us at the time of booking.

  • Contact us for other locations you don’t see, we’ll let you know if we have anything up our sleeve.

  • Yes! Please reach out for our Rock Locations approved catering in The Rockaways.

  • We can help to assist you to secure parking based on your needs – from using home driveways, to advising on street parking, and finding a lot if available.

  • We’ve got you covered there as well – we can help obtain space for production, catering, talent, extras, or whatever else you may need some extra space for!

  • Absolutely! We have an amazing local crew list that we can share with you – they’ll each do an awesome job and be a pleasure to have on your set.

  • Keep in mind that we do our best to keep all location photos up-to-date, but owners sometimes make changes (furniture, color on walls, etc.) on a whim and seasons change (summer time grass might be covered in winter snow). We do our best to advise you on a location’s “look” at the time of your inquiry and can retrieve any further details as needed. We suggest that you arrange a scouting visit to see any location’s most current look.

  • Payment is made prior to the job (to clear in full) via Apple Pay, cash, CashApp, company check, PayPal, Venmo, wire transfer, or Zelle. Any OT is billed and paid at end of the shoot.

  • We require a security deposit (also payable by any method listed above) that is returned to you in full at wrap (or when the location owner does a walk through) if all is left as found and/or if there is no OT.

  • We can help you source and rent props, cars, vintage bikes, surfboards and skateboards – let us know what you are looking for.

  • On production day, you’ll need to know the closest hospital for your call sheet:  St. John’s Episcopal Hospital 327 Beach 19th St. Far Rockaway, NY 11691

  • We know all about the beach and surf breaks, and the great local surfers who can jump in and on a wave for your shoots.
