Rock Locations launched in 2016 in The Rockaways, New York City. It represents home and business owners for production in their locations.
The Rockaways, the hip and urban beach community in Queens, New York is convenient to Manhattan’s neighborhoods as well as production from the outer boroughs. Its proximity to JFK airport also makes it an easy journey for any production company flying into the area. It’s a rich environment for media production projects.
The Rockaways neighborhood is home to such creative businesses as a wine and tapas bar, surf shops, hip clothing boutiques, yoga studios and a funky home vintage shop that all set themselves apart from the typical city style.
The homes as well – a mansion on the bay, cool houseboats, surfers’ pads, upscale beach block houses and more – exude that same sense of creativity.
Owner/founder, Claudia Bloom, is the location representative for all of these businesses and homes. Her passion for the beach and surfing led her to her home from Manhattan after many years to The Rockaways.
Her professional background in film and television – as an actress in LA, a casting director for films, theater and print, an acting coach, as well as a women’s magazine editor – all inspired the launch of Rock Locations. Claudia combined her experience in production with her love for her community after quickly discovering the richness in its locations as well as its convenience to Manhattan and Brooklyn production companies. Rock Locations seemed to be a perfect fit for the area. She expanded outside of The Rockaways to include locations in Broad Channel, Brooklyn, Cape Cod, Long Island, Manhattan, and New Jersey.
